Fashion Queen, Bubble Blower

"Yook at me, Mom!" This is her new chosen purple swim suit. ("Uh, can you actually do laps in that getup, Sweetie? You also need a one-piece for public appearances.") She was dancing around so much, I could barely get a still shot. Naturally, after this try-on session, Mom had to hide the suit in the back of the dresser drawer. Otherwise, she'd be asking to wear it everyday.

Cute close-up of her bubble-blowing skills.

And she's pretty successful with her technique.

It helps to have the right outfit, of course. She's no slave to fashion - she defines what she wants. Mud boots? Check. Purple everything else. Check.

Easter Egg Hunts

Our fabulous neighbors Nick, Felice, Henry, and Max invited us to their place for a small Egg Hunt. It seemed Miss A didn't remember the objective (despite a review on the way over). She stood there in shock, not knowing what to do. (Granted, her last egg hunt was a year ago, so I give the toddler a break.)

After talking her into picking up an egg (and there were eggs everywhere), she seemed completely satisfied with the one. As if, "Hey, I have a basket, some fake grass, and an egg. I think I met the goal."

Ah, then Dad steps in for a little coaching, and she's off like a rocket. Now the game gets fun! Check out the loot in that basket! Thanks again to The Carters and their friends for allowing us to join. It was a great start to the day.

Later in the afternoon, Gramma Patty came out for dinner and we had another Hunt in our backyard. Daddy was outside and said he saw the Easter Bunny hop down the hill really fast, and he wondered if maybe he'd been quietly visiting and left some more eggs. So we went to look. As you can see, EB left eggs all over the swingset, even on Blackie! In the words of Aleaha, "OH. MY. DOSH!"

This shot is funny because you can get a sense of how quickly she's moving by the flowing ponytail. She was running all over! (my excuse for the blurriness, too)

She was proud and happy. Fortunately, she never questioned how the very eggs that we had colored the day before happened to show up suddenly in the backyard under this mysterious story of a bunny that visited, placed eggs, and ran away.

March Update

Been too long. It's not like nothin' has been happening, but we don't even seem to have time to snap a few pics and write a post. Here's what was found recently from the camera phone, which is a light chronicle of what we've done lately....

Took a drive to Newport in Mid-March. I wanted to look at the ships. And buy candy at the candy shop. And run in the sand. But we didn't see the sand, cuz it was too wet.

This is how to eat chicken. ("'Enry the VIIIth I am, I am...")

"This is how to eat whipped cream off the beater." (As if any of us need a lesson....)

Those are horses on my "stirt" (skirt), and Mom calls it an Easter hat but I call it a "Cowboy Hat". I wore it most of the day.

Here I am helping Dad put up the new birdhouse we built. I'm holding the drill. "I can hold thing pitty good, ya know."

"Now we haf to wait for the birdies to come yiv in it."
