Busy, Busy Miss Miri

Miri loves to play with the baby-dolls. We were home sick one day (too sick for school, but not to sick to run around the house), and I took a bunch of photos of her doin' her thing with all sorts of toys, all over the house. Here she is, playing with the bee-bees (babies).

I found this cute little chapeau in a bag of hand-me-downs from Cousin Sylvie. She spied this right away and claimed "mine!".

She has taken up the habit of getting out lots of towels and washcloths from the kitchen drawer....

....in order to take good care of the bee-bees.

She models another piece of headgear. She has inherited this bike helmet, as Aleaha's brains have outgrown it.

Here's a taste of her playtime with the babies. Not much sound, just a happy, quiet baby with her babies.

Another blissfully quiet moment.

Yes, they are sometimes together

After saying I can't get a shot of them together, I found a few. These aren't great pics, but proves they are sisters! :)

Taking a moment to play in the sandbox. There was a little bickering over who got to use the fun sand-pouring, whirlygig gizmo. So when Mommy spied them on sale at BiMart, she snagged another one. It's not worth the headache of "mine, mine" on a dollar-two-ninety-eight piece of plastic. Yes, of course I want them to learn to share. But we'll press those lessons on the big ticket items. Like that pony Aleaha has been asking for.....uh, yeah. That'll be a great time for that lesson.

I managed to get organized enough to plan a cookie-making event with the girls for Valentine's Day (Sunday before it). Here they are, rolling out the extra dough.

It was Miri's idea to get the little cookie sheet to "bake" the left over scraps. She ran over to her play kitchen to get it and babbled all the way back, and tried to get me to put it in the real oven. (And for full disclosure, we never got the darling heart cookies decorated. I know I shouldn't admit this to the universe, but it just can't all align every time, my sweeties. It was in the plans, but then the evenings were taken up with tasks like dinner and baths. We just plain ran outa time.)

Rocking in the glider in their purple dresses. If you can't tell from the look, there was a little squealing going on.

The girls love to go to the barn with mom to feed the animals. Here we are asking Miri, "Where's Jake?" and "Where's Arby".

All About Aleaha

I realized lately that I was remiss in taking photos of Miri, and I would quickly regret that. So I tried to snap up a few every chance I could. Then that left me without many shots of Aleaha. (No, it's not usually possible to get a good picture of them together!)

So here's a little update about her....

Aunt Jeannie made Aleaha the cutest apron, with apples and apple pies all over it. She's already gotten LOTS of use out of it. It's perfect! Thank you, Aunt Jeannie!!

Aleaha had to go to the dentist recently for her first filling. That's not a milestone a parent likes to celebrate, exactly, but she did earn the right to pick out some jimcrack from the dentist's coveted Treasure Chest, so that explains the blue sequined crown. The real photojournalistic noteworthy claim here is that she ate two platefuls of food. I let her pick the joint (Shari's) and the meal (breakfast for lunch), and she proved that despite her typical behavior at home and school, the girl really can put away the groceries when she wants to.

Ok, this is less about Aleaha and more about that silly cat, who allowed Aleaha to push him all over the house one day. I have a video of it, but the quality is so terrible, it's not worth looking at. Plus, mostly you can just see too much of my messy house in the background, and I'm not opening up that for witness on the internet! ;)

Walk This Way

One of Miri's favorite sayings lately is "Ah waaa walk." (which means, I wanna walk, naturally.) And her favorite manner of this is to place her hands deep in her pockets.
