The Anatomy of a Horse Roll, Part 2, By Jake

Sniff out a good spot, but don't take too much time. This one has a bit of an incline, but that can be used to your advantage if you position your tired, old, bony body just right.

Get into the position.

Note my gentle kicking and head tossing, while keeping my body aligned downhill. This uses gravity to your benefit. You want a little "slide" effect here, for friction of the grass on your fur.

Get yourself back up. This will be the most challenging part. It helps to grunt a little.

A successful roll will be indicated by a nice carpet of fur left behind.

Proceed to the next task, which is eating.
